Michael Burtch and Gary and Joanie McGuffin are featured in this article about the film “Painted Land: In Search of the Group of Seven” . These modern day explorers set out to locate the actual painting sites and the Northern Ontario vistas immortalized by the Group of Seven paintings nearly a century ago. Burtch, who was interviewed for the article, describes their experiences in researching and finding these heritage landscapes, and how their quest attracted the award-winning documentary filmmaker White Pine Pictures to produce the film with them. The film will be showcased at Algoma Fall Festival in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario October 3-4 2015, and broadcast on TVO October 17, 2015. Later it will tour film festivals and be available on DVD.
